Tursac

The small village of Tursac lies in the plain on the bank of the Vézère which adds to the charm of the village.

The winding river and its towering cliffs, have given shelter to man throughout the ages so the Tursac area has been a rich source of archeological sites.

La Madeleine site has given its name to the last Paleolithic age, Magdalenian (-18,000). Here too is the fortified manor house, La Maison Forte de Reignac, a troglodyte fort, and the theme park, Le Prehisto-Parc.

The recently restored church has several copulas and the Fontpeyrine chapel with its Spring of Miracles, was, in the past, an important place of pilgrimage.
The 15th century Marzac castle proudly overlooks the valley.
