Manaurie

The village of Manaurie is several kilometres north of Les Eyzies on the banks of the river Manaurie, a tributary of the Vézère.
Its source is in the commune of Rouffignac and flows into the Vézère 15 kilometres further downstream next to the Laugerie Haute site in Les Eyzies.
There are several castles and manor houses in the commune: Rocaudou 15th and 16th century, Lortzal and its chape,l 16th and 17th century, Cap de Roc (a monastery at the entrance to the village) all provide a historic backdrop to the village.
The church in the centre of the village is of particular interest with its bell- wall and sober decoration.
