Castelnaud castle, a listed historic building since 1966, overlooks the Dordogne valley, offering a sweeping view over the sites of Beynac, Marqueyssac and La Roque Gageac.
The fortress has been open to the public since 1985 and is entirely dedicated to the art of war in medieval times. Come discover its large collection of arms and armour, furniture collection and life-sized reconstructions of machines used in battle. To complete the tour, miniatures and audio-visual media help to better understand the various strategies of attack and the defence of a medieval castle.
